Following highly successful collaborative tours of John Godber's Bouncers (2010), Up'n'Under: The Welsh Tour (2011) and Tim Firth's Neville’s Island (2012), we are flying into action this autumn with our new production of Marc Camoletti's classic non-stop farce Boeing Boeing.
It is the swinging 1960s, and Bernard is living his dream life. He has a stylish apartment in Paris and, most importantly… an airline timetable! With accurate planning and the help of a very reluctant housekeeper, he successfully juggles three gorgeous air stewardess fiancées, each unaware of the others - one up, one down and one pending! But turbulence hits Bernard’s perfect life when his friend Robert comes to stay. Weather delayed flights and a new, faster Boeing jet send his busy love life into chaos. Soon all three stewardesses are grounded in Paris and poor Robert struggles to remember which lies to tell to whom, and pandemonium ensues!
Fasten your seat belts for this breathtakingly farcical play - brought to you with the usual Black RAT high energy and gusto!
Casting:
We are delighted to welcome back - Black RAT favourites - Gareth Bale as ROBERT and Julie Barclay as BERTHA. We also are excited that Sarah Jayne Hopkins, who played the The Blue Fairy for us in Pinnochio Christmas 2012 at The Gate, is returning to the company to play GRETCHEN the passionate German air hostess! Joining them, from BBC's Baker Boys, is Richard Corgan in the role of BERNARD - the lothario with three fiancées! The final two cast members, and joining Black RAT directly from London's West End stage, are Laura Clements who will play GABRIELLA the sexy French air hostess and Hannah Whittingham who will play GLORIA the gorgeous American air hostess with the American attitude and a flair for the modern!
