Morgan Hopkins

Morgan Hopkins

Son of Val, husband to Anwen, dad to Mefin, Gwennan, Cadog and Eos, brother of Gwyneth and Byron, Morgan is a native of the Rhymney valley though he has been temporarily living in Cardiff for 25 years now. Having attended Ygol Gyfun Gymraeg Cwm Rhymni when it was, if we’re being honest, a done-up shed with leaking roofs in the shadow of a coal tip (though the teachers were great, to be fair), he went on to…lets call it study…drama at Aberystwyth. He worked tirelessly at, you know, drama and was awarded a Desmond. He has been in such films as TWIN TOWN, VERY ANNIE MARY, and with Wesley Snipes in THE CONTRACTOR (a fact that he is more willing to admit to than is Mr Snipes). His TV roles have included the first series of DR WHO, TORCHWOOD, MURPHYS LAW, CARE, HINTERLAND and TRACEY BEAKER – the latter the only one his kids were genuinely, slightly impressed by for a disappointingly small amount of time. He has played many roles over the past twenty six years in Welsh language productions, both on TV, in film and in the theatre, including a Welsh language production of BOUNCERS some seventeen years ago. Morgan well remembers the time that he was a bouncer, for about five years in total, and the experiences that coloured his early clubbing experiences. Mainly red.
